The other way in which divorce can affect you is by causing changes in your weight. When you get to this point, it becomes very easy to gain or lose weight. With most people, when they fall into a deep divorce depression, they end up losing weight due to changes in eating behaviour. With others, stress-eating becomes their solace, and they ultimately gain a substantial amount of weight. So, the aspect of changes in weight will be triggered by a change in eating behaviour.
The next way in which divorce can affect you is that it can lead to an increase in drugs and substance abuse. Divorce usually means a lot of that which you had joint management ends up becoming shared or just as well one party ends up losing authority over. A good example is the children you probably once had now fall under the care of one parent, and the other spouse is expected to see them under a few guidelines. When a parent suffers such a loss, they may tend to fall into a major depression that leads them to find solace in drugs and other substances. This then becomes a habit and eventually a disease that they cannot get free off. Drugs eventually ruin the health of the abuser and ultimately leads to catastrophic effects like lung cancer and the like.
